2016 is almost over and it’s about time to start talking about the trends that will come with the new year.

The company’s annual National Home Design and Color Survey reported that 40% of the participants, amongst home owners and interior designers, said they would have a preference for earthen more neutral and warmer colors next year, and Poised Taupe seems to be their favorite choice, which according to Sue Wadden, director of color marketing for Sherwin-Williams, “is not cool or warm, nor gray or brown, it is a weathered, woodsy neutral color bringing a sense of coziness and harmony that people are seeking.”

Of course, you’re not going to paint your entire house and buy all of your furniture of the same color, Poised Taupe is only the cornerstone of a series of colors that will emerge in combination with it as the seasons change:

Paired with greens, bronze and mustard yellow you can create a beautiful contemporary organic palette,

Combined with reds, browns and dusty pink you will put a natural yet modern feel to any room you choose;
